P6 Education Trip to RSU
n the 26th of July, our P6 students embarked on an educational field trip to the Culinary Arts department at Rangsit University. During this insightful visit our students were guided in the process of crafting delectable cookies by the experienced faculty during a culinary masterclass. Such educational field trips and hands on experiences play an important role in guiding students towards their future careers and academic pursuits, ensuring the innovative education received at SBS nurtures their talents and aspirations.

Secondary Residential Trip 2023
Our Secondary Residential Trip to Khao Yai was a resounding success as students took the lead in designing a dynamic array of activities to boost problem solving skills, teamwork, and foster strong bonds between peers. The Residential Trip has ignited a spirit of unity and determination that will last throughout the year.

SBS Science Day
Science Day was a huge success, taking students on a captivating journey into a world of discovery and adventure. With hands on experiments and thought provoking demonstrations, the atmosphere buzzed with excitement as young minds explored the mysteries of our world. Science Day reminds us that the pursuit of knowledge is a thrilling journey that knows no bounds.

Student Spotlight: Cambridge AS Level Results
Last week the The Cambridge AS Level results for May/June 2023 were announced and we would like to congratulate all the students who sat the examinations. Today we celebrate the outstanding achievements of Jimmy, Jerry, EiEi, and Pear. The SBS community is super proud of you all. Well done!

SBS Women's Day
Today we celebrated Womens Day, and also marked the auspicious occasion of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit’s birthday. Female role models have a profound impact on the lives of our students and today we honor the extraordinary achievement and contributions of women around the world. From trailblazers who shatter glass ceilings to everyday heroes who inspire change, this day recognizes the spirit and resilience of women in all walks of life. At SBS we champion gender equality, amplify women's voices, and look to build a better future where our female students can thrive and make their mark on the world.

Parent Education: Play-Based Learning
At SBS we believe that a child's learning journey is enhanced through collaborative efforts. Through parent education sessions and workshops our community gains an insight into their child's learning process. Recently our K3 team hosted a play based learning session which showcased the immersive world of our curriculum. Through their participation they gained a deeper understanding of how play fuels cognitive, social, and emotional development. Join us at future sessions so you to can be empowered to become active partners in your child's educational journey at SBS.

A Celebration of Thai Language
SBS we celebrate a balance of local and global events so our students develop a rich understanding of who they are in our modern world. Thai language Day is celebrated on the 29th of July each year to ensure Thai people are aware of the importance, beauty, and value of their language. Through this annual celebration the language will be forever promoted and conserved.

World Population Day
At SBS our learners are given opportunities to celebrate the United Nations days with other children from around the world. World Population Day is a global observance that raises awareness about the pressing issues related to population growth, reproductive health and sustainable development. Our P4 students researched the effect of growing populations on different countries and looked at how culture and environments are impacted. They presented their findings to their peers.

PYP Professional Development Day
Last Saturday 15th of July, the PYP team of leaders and teachers met for a professional development day. At SBS we believe our teachers are the most important resource in bringing out the very best in our children. The continuous professional development of our team of teachers and teaching assistants is essential if we are going to, not only maintain standards but advance the quality of learning and teaching across the school. We appreciate the dedication and commitment of our teachers to give up their Saturday to facilitate their growth and development.

Friendship Parade
To finish our wellness month, our littlest students from Toddler to P2 joined together in their Colour House teams to celebrate the importance of Friendship. Their Anti-Bullying Day message was one of respect, caring, tolerance, and togetherness as they paraded around the campus. In preparation they created their own posters, slogans, and chants about what Friendship means to them. It was an empowering experience and their message of unity rang loud and clear throughout the school. Great job everyone!!!!

Student Council Elections
Democracy was in full swing today as our Primary and Secondary students went to the polls to vote for their student council for 2023. With the canvasing completed, policies outlined, and the promises made, the power now rests with the electorate. The votes are being tallied and the results will be announced early next week. We thank all the candidates for their efforts over the last few weeks. The policies presented demonstrate your values and a desire to make a different in the lives of every SBS student. You are a credit to our school and we wish you good luck as the count begins.

Anti Bullying Day - Unity Parade
To bring our Wellness Month to a close, the students of SBS celebrated Anti bullying Day with a various activities that were integrated into the first Colour House meeting of the year. Every student at SBS is assigned a colour house when they join the school. The colour houses represent our values and through collaborative events across the year, students develop teamwork skills, build unity, community and a positive school spirit.

Student Spotlight: University Acceptance Miki and Jenny
SBS Secondary school offers an International Bilingual Education which means we have the resources to prepare our students for both National and International universities. We celebrate the continued success of this years graduating class by congratulating Ms. Kanyalak Kunlimratchai (Miki) and Ms. Supitcha Ditprasert (Jenny) on their University acceptance. Miki will study Psychology at Kasetsart University while Jenny will study Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE) at Thammasat University. Well done. We are very proud of you both for achieving your goals!!

First Day of School
Our dedicated SBS students are the soul and vitality of our school community. They represent who we are and embody the values that we wish to instill in our youth of today. The management and staff at SBS would like to welcome all our students to academic year 2023. We are filled with anticipation of what you can, and will achieve in your learning journey this year.

Parent Orientation Day 2023
Special thanks to all our SBS Community Members that joined our us for our Parent Orientation Day. It was great to see so many friendly faces, and lots of new faces too, at both the onsite and online sessions. We were happy to have such a great turn out. The Parent Orientation is an important day to start the new year. Parents have the opportunity to learn more about the International programmes of education at SBS, while also getting updates on the new campus developments implemented during the holidays. Getting up to date information on daily routines, class schedules, and of course meeting the teaching teams makes for a very special day.

Student Spotlight: University Acceptance North (M6C) and Big (M6D)
SBS is a Cambridge International School We continue our Student Spotlight series with a celebration of University Acceptance for two of our outstanding M6 students. We celebrate both Mr. Rattaphong Phumsawata (North) and Mr. Wattana Sasiphanuwat (Big) on their acceptance to Kasetsart University to study Entrepreneurial Economics (EEBA). Congratulations and well done. We are very proud of both of you and wish you all the best as you embark on the next stage of your educational journey.

Student Spotlight: University Acceptance Fah (M6B)
Well done to Ms Niyawee Kaldit (Fah) from M6B for being accepted to Kasetsart University to study Entrepreneurial Economics in Business Administration in their International Program. Good luck in your studies. We are all so proud of you!

Design and Technology in our 21st Century Makerspace
Year 7 students have been learning about hand tool safety. At the same time, they are also gaining knowledge about the various types of hand tools and how they can be used for any kind of work. Hand tools are essential for day-to-day jobs, so this experience with the various tools, and the safety measures when using them, should serve our young students really well in their future.

Student Spotlight: Por (M3A)
We are proud to share the magnificent achievement by Por from M3A in the Isuzu Youth Relations 2023 Digital Art competition ‘Energy Saving to Reduce Global Warming’. Por successfully passed the first round and is now through to the final round in this Digital Art competition. She received a prize of THB10,000, as well as a plaque courtesy of Isuzu Thailand.

Music and Art - End of the year Performance
To end this productive year, our community enjoyed many creative music, dance and drama performances from students in year 8 - year 10. These performances were presented by students working on projects right the way across the year, and the presentations played a vital role in the final examination for the Art and Music group. Our year 11 students created and designed wonderful booths where they sold homemade handicrafts and provided opportunities for passers by to participate in various games!

Fostering Bilingual Education in Thailand
SBS was delighted to host a delegation from The Demonstration School of Kanchanaburi Rajabhat University to share knowledge and experience of Bilingual Education. Being considered one of the leading Bilingual Schools in the country, SBS is the perfect place for the visiting delegation to learn how our core mission and values, coupled with our unique International Bilingual Curriculum, develops graduates who possess not only the communication and language proficiency skills but also the qualifications necessary to study at top universities at home and abroad.

SBS Kindergarten Wins Healthy Schools Award
The AIA Healthiest School Programme aims to help millions of people live Healthier, Longer, Better Lives and have a positive impact on communities across Asia. We at SBS chose to contribute to this drive and have our own impact on healthy, happy learners. At SBS we were confident that we met all of the areas required to be a healthy and happy school and by taking part in this initiative, were able to showcase our strengths in the areas of focus. For our school community we are pleased to have been given an award which shows that we are doing all we can to encourage healthy living and well being.

Student Spotlight: An, Preawa & Boss
At this time of year our burning pride is constantly being ignited with great news of university acceptances for our graduating students. The latest delight was hearing the news from Preawa (M6B) and An (M6A), who have both secured places in the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Khon Kaen University. Congratulations must go to Boss (M6B) who has secured a place in the Faculty of Humanities (Korean), also at Khon Kaen University. Well done to these 3 wonderful students and the very best of luck in your future endeavours.

Student Spotlight: Phupha (P3B)
SBS would like to congratulate Phupha (3B) on his recent success in the Thai National Impromptu Speech Competition. Phupha competed in the final round with participants from different regions across Thailand. We are so pleased to announce that Phupha was awarded a gold medal for his skills. The SBS community are very proud of you and your achievements Phupha!

MOU’s with International Universities: Phoenix Academy
On 30th January, Mr. William Lewis from Phoenix Academy, was welcomed to campus to give a wonderful presentation to parents and students on the benefits of studying in Perth, Western Australia. He spoke about the Universities represented by the Phoenix Academy and the wide variety of courses available to our students. He also spoke about and the quality of life afforded to students in Australia's most western city.

Student Spotlight: Chi (M3A)
We are feeling delighted and very proud to once again share in the success of another SBS Secondary student. Chi from M3A recently won the Gold Medal in the category of Pictorial Writing at the 70th National Arts and Crafts competition. Well done to Chi on her great win!

Student Spotlight: Lookkid & Aki
Congratulations to two more of our outstanding students from M6A, An and Atom, who have both been accepted into Chulalongkorn University! Both An and Atom have secured their places on Bachelor of Business Administration courses (BBA). We are so proud of them and wish them lots of success and happiness in their chosen fields of expertise.

Student Spotlight: Lookkid & Aki
Congratulations to another two Mathayom 6 students for securing exciting university placements! Lookkid from M6C has been accepted for a JOINT INTERNATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY PROGRAM at Chulalongkorn University, and Aki from M6A will be looking forward to a BACHELOR of SCIENCE in APPLIED CHEMISTRY at Chulalongkorn University. We are very proud of them and we are sure they will go on to be a credit to all concerned as they embark on the next stage in their lives.

Student Spotlight: Cheeta & Chi (M3A)
It is always a delight to see our SBS Secondary students doing well in academic competitions against other schools in the area. Many congratulations to Chi and Cheeta from M3A who received gold medals at the Mathayom 1 - Mathayom 3 level in the areas of English Short Story Writing and Mathematics. They will now represent our province of Pathum Thani in the next round! Well done and good luck in the next round.

Student Spotlight - University Acceptance: Tara (M6A)
Congratulations to Tara from M6A on securing another placement in a top class Faculty of Medicine at Princess Chulabhorn College of Medical Science. This is now the 2nd great medical school Tara has been accepted to. We are so proud of her and must thank her for all the hard work she has put into SBS over the years. Well done, and good luck with an exciting future career.

M2A Fern wins 7th CSTD Thailand Dance Grand Prix 2020
She achieved 1st place in the Modern Solo 13 & age division, an honorable mention in the Repertoire Solo and the Contemporary Solo. Her Classical Duo performance saw her achieve 2nd place in the 15 & Under category. Well done, Ms.Fern! SBS is proud of you and can not wait to see what the future holds for you!

Grade 5 students inquire into the importance of agriculture
Our Grade 5 students have been learning about civilizations and how agriculture has been an important part of civilizations. As part of their action they planted herbs beside our bamboo learning center in order to observe how they grow. The herbs will be used to make food for one of their later units.

Secondary students visit RSU Anatomy Lab
During this visit, each student was allowed to observe human anatomy closely where they learnt about the thoracic wall with hands-on experience. The students also interacted with the staff and students and got an insight into the Medical World.

Market fair: uniting SBS community
SBS Student Council organized a market fair to unite the SBS community. The range of booths provided entertainment for our SBS community and resulted in a spectacular event hosted by our student council members.

SBS - Double Degrees Program
Selected SBS Secondary students participated in the KMT Online Competition and has showed that they are at par with the best students from other schools, across the world.

Charity football match
SBS community joined together in an amazing charity football event. It was great to see so many teachers and parents playing in the matches and families supporting this event. Our community pulled together to raise awareness about cancer and raise money for a member of our community.

Kindergarten science week
Our little scientists in K3 got the chance to present their experiments at Primary Science day. A proud moment for all involved.

Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics Results
We are proud to announce that SBS students successfully completed the Cambridge Mathematics (IGCSE) Extended exams. SBS introduced our “Accelerated Mathematics Programme” during Term 2 of our 2019 Academic Year, where students are prepared to take the IGCSE exams 6 months earlier.

SBS and Rangsit University organize a fun filled Colour Run event. The money raised from the event will be donated to charities that make our community - Muang Ake a better place.
