Story of “The Lion King”

The Lion King: The Broadway Musical celebrated its world premiere at the Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis, MN, on July 8, 1997. This is a musical based on the 1994 Disney animated film of the same name with music by Elton John and lyrics by Tim Rice along with the musical score created by Hans Zimmer with choral arrangements by Lebo M.

The Lion King is the story of a young lion prince living in the flourishing African Pride Lands. Born into the royal family, cub Simba spends his days exploring the sprawling savanna grasslands and idolizing his kingly father, Mufasa. When an unthinkable tragedy, orchestrated by Simba’s wicked uncle, Scar, takes his father’s life, Simba flees the Pride Lands, leaving his loss and the life he knew behind. Eventually companioned by two hilarious and unlikely friends, Simba starts anew. But when weight of responsibility and a desperate plea from the now ravaged Pride Lands come to find the adult prince, Simba must take on a formidable enemy, and fulfill his destiny to be king.

Satit Bilingual School of Rangsit University and the production cast of the “The Lion King, the musical”, cordially invite members of the Thai public to welcome Her Royal Highness Princess Soamsawali on the occasion of Her highness’s gracious presiding over the musical for the 2010 academic year.
“The Lion King, the musical” is the 3rd annual musical production. It will be shown in two performances, on Saturday March 13th,  2010, meeting room 1-301, Dr. Arthit Ourairat Building, Rangsit University. Tickets are priced at 500 and 1,000 Baht.
